Tiodize is an advanced technology company specializing in the development, manufacture and application of products for the prevention of friction, wear and corrosion.

Our products are utilized in an increasingly broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, automotive, marine and electronics. In fact, almost any application that involves lubrication for friction and wear or corrosion barriers for galling and corrosion can benefit from Tiodize technology.

The company was founded in 1966 by Thomas Adams to fill the need for a special coating to reduce galling and its associated effects on titanium parts used in high performance aircraft. This coating and method of application, now widely known as the "TIODIZE PROCESS", has been specified for use on practically every major space, military and commercial aircraft program since its introduction.

Rapid acceptance of the Tiodize Process led to intensified research and the development of solid film lubricants. The result was the introduction of the TIOLON and TIOLUBE families of advanced anti-friction, anti-wear, Mil-spec quality dry film lubricants. The ALUMAZITE family of aluminum pigmented corrosion inhibiting coatings was the next logical step and today we employ over seventy different coatings for lubrication and corrosion problems. In addition to technical support, we also have full processing plant capabilities to accomodate your needs.

To complement our plant in Huntington Beach, the Tiodize/Michigan processing plant was established in Wixom, Michigan to provide coatings for the specialized needs of the automotive industry as well as all other industries. Research into lubrication also led to the development of TRIBO/COMP, a self-lubricating composite material for use as bearings, bushings and a multitude of other friction products.

Composite research led to FIBER/LITE, a range of fasteners and fastening devices made of composite for use with composites.

Tiodize has even developed a line of non-hazardous cleaners and lubricants for the sports, consumer and racing markets. Through ongoing research and development, we are constantly anticipating the needs of today's advanced applications and we continue to expand our vast array of products, many of which are featured here on our site.
